About me
I’m a Recreation Therapist. I believe every person has a right to joy, play and belonging, and that participation in community life is a goal in itself.
Press play to meet me
Maybe someone said wait. Maybe you’ve been handed a list of everything your family member can’t do. I start somewhere else: with what they love, and build from there.
Services include
Every program is planned one-to-one, around your family member’s interests, abilities and goals, in the community and at home.
Art, music, crafts and activities based on individual interests.
Building communication skills, friendships and confidence.
Parks, museums, coffee shops, shopping, seasonal events and more.
Everyday skills, independence and meaningful participation.
Person-centred support based on abilities, interests and personal goals.
These are starting points, not a menu. If your family member loves something that isn’t listed here, that’s where we begin.
The idea
Inclusive leisure means adapting the activity to the person, not the person to the activity.
It means planning recreation that is accessible, enjoyable and meaningful for people of all abilities, so they can take part fully in community life.
Interests, strengths and preferences lead. A program template never does.
Change the pace, tools, rules or setting until full participation is possible.
Families are partners in setting goals and sharing what works.
Skills and confidence that carry into everyday life, beyond our sessions.
I work with adults across five broad areas. If you don’t see your situation here, reach out. The answer is usually yes.
Autism, Down syndrome, intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, stroke recovery, mobility differences.
Anxiety, depression and social isolation, rebuilding confidence through leisure.
Dementia, age-related change, and the need for connection and purpose.
Recovering from surgery, injury or illness, or adjusting after a loss, retirement or a move. Read more
A diagnosis alone never decides whether Inclusive Leisure is the right service. What matters is that your family member is currently stable and ready for a community leisure experience.
Some situations, such as active crisis or safety-related behaviours, need clinical supports I don’t provide. If you’re unsure, ask on the free call.
Companionship & support
Sometimes life changes overnight. A fall, a surgery, an illness, a loss, a move to a new country. Suddenly the things that filled your days are out of reach: the walk to the coffee shop, the garden, the friends you used to see. The days get quieter, and it’s easy to feel stuck.
You don’t need a diagnosis to deserve support. Sometimes you just need someone in your corner: someone who shows up, listens, and helps you find your way back to the things that make life feel like yours.
That’s what I do. I’m a Recreation Therapist, so our time together has a purpose. We start with what you enjoy and what you miss, then plan small, realistic steps:
Let’s find the light again, one small step at a time.
Simple, personal, and at your pace.
A free 20-minute discovery call. No forms and no commitment.
A leisure assessment of interests, abilities and goals.
An individualized program with goals that matter to your family.
Regular sessions, honest updates, and a plan that changes as they do.
Sessions take place in your community, at home, or online.
For organizations & professionals
For agencies, day programs and care teams that want to build or strengthen inclusive recreation programming, I offer consultation and hands-on staff training.
Help planning or refining recreation, social and wellness programming, from assessment to implementation.
Practical training for support and recreation staff on adapting activities and person-centred facilitation.
An outside look at existing programs, with practical recommendations to improve engagement and participation.
Inclusive Leisure is a private service. Fees are shared as clear ranges on your discovery call, so there are no surprises.
I’ll walk you through your options, including invoicing that works with funding programs.
